06-01 LABORATORIOS FARMACÉUTICOS ADITYA

NUEVOS LABORATORIOS FARMACÉUTICOS ADITYA CONCURSO INVITACION. FINALISTA EMPLAZAMIENTO: BOMBAY (INDIA) CLIENTE: ADITYA COAUTOR: SAURABH MALPANI

FORM & VOLUME Due to constraint of preserving present columns, the basic form of building is predefined. This limit gave challenge to come up with innovative use of saree. It wraps around the building giving new expression and scale. The outcomes of difference in volumes of exterior form of main building are verandahs, terraces on upper level.

SAREE The 4mm thick composite perforated panel of aluminum with PVDF coating over wraps exterior of main building exposing some areas, like saree on woman. The exposed area will be finished with pre cast panels of white concrete. The basic materials of both finishes are products of Aditya Birla Group. Composite panel saree gives high tech look, provides sun screen with breathing skin, maintenance free, saves cost of refurbishing exterior painting in every 2 years in Mumbai’s climate, hides any future external ducting into it. The innovative use of perforated panel acts in-between interior and exterior of main building. The perforation in panel is controlled. Depending on the interior function of building the intensity of perforation in panel varies. To achieve different light intensity inside, to break the massiveness of façade and to orients one from outside. The distance between plane of composite panel differs with and main building.

PATIOS are heart valves of building. They connect interior of building to exterior by entry of nature’s element. One gets to know when it is dark or raining. They help to establish visual connection of either sides. Introduction of patio diffuses introvert environment of labs, administration and other functions. It provide informal node for conversation. Library patio allows outdoor reading and open-air discussion.

LABS aim to benefit from natural lights. The layout of measurement and analytical lab is very basic and based on diagram received from CTSS.

CHEMICAL LABS It has simple layout, two long side consist patios, and other two small corridors, respectively movement and service one. Fume hoods are adjacent to service corridor and extreme end of lab. Research associates sit next to patio. Two offices of scientist segregates movement corridor to main space of lab. The two doors open in main corridor though labs (emergency exit); it shares a common zone of wash area and storage of gas cylinder with adjacent lab.
